They say the holidays are a season of giving... so it only seems fitting that my new friend Stephanie gets featured this month with her new "Somewhere Out There" project to spread smiles! Stephanie works in retail, and recently had the thought that people could use a little more cheer! She made it her goal to come |
The idea behind the project is simple: Stephanie engraves an uplifting word or phrase on a wooden token, which she then leaves in random places for strangers to discover. She has already taken on a few big tasks:
Shortly before Giving Tuesday, I sent tokens to the local Children's Hospital. I also sent tokens to Florida State University after the shooting for the faculty to put out for the students. I have had a few people respond on my Facebook page who found the tokens, which was really awesome. Since then, I have been trying to do all I can to spread positivity!
Due to the costs associated with purchasing the tokens and shipping them to the numerous states and three countries they have been requested, the Somewhere Out There project could use a little holiday generosity to keep it running!
Would you like to help share a smile? (Really, who wouldn't!)
Donate just $1 and Stephanie will leave a wooden token for a stranger to find.
Donate $10 and she'll send you your own wooden token so you can personally spread some smiles.
Or, contribute an amount of your choice to help Stephanie continue her goodwill, including upcoming projects.
Even if you're unable to contribute financially, the Somewhere Out There project can use your help!
Just share the links to her Facebook or Twitter pages to spread awareness of her campaign to spread smiles! If you'd like to receive some tokens to leave in your area, email Stephanie-- and as soon as she receives a donation to help cover the shipping costs, she'll send some your way.
Here's a short video summarizing the Somewhere Out There project. Makes you smile, doesn't it? Thanks, Stephanie, for sharing your quest with us!
