I've got a question for you: What's your favorite rags to riches story? There are many to choose from. Most children's books or coming of age tales include some kind of personal transformation-- think The Ugly Ducking, Cinderella... the list goes on and on. On my personal journey to become a kinder, happier individual, I have learned that changing myself from the inside out is of utmost importance. Actions mean very little if they don't come from a place of genuine love and with positive intentions. |
The journey to a balanced and full life is a work in progress— it’s something that requires constant thought and determined action. But thinking of R.A.G.S. provides a kind of mental checklist. Is this action or behavior that I am now considering being done out of resentment, anxiety, greed or to achieve a feeling of superiority? If so, it’s an old rag, ready to be tossed straight to the Goodwill pile. Consider yourself one step farther down the road to a shinier, new and improved inner self!
I hope this little mind trick is helpful to you, too! Do you have other acronyms or steps you take to help you remember to take the high road, stay on the right path or be kind and put others first? If so, please share in the comments! Together, we can help each other become better individually so we can work better as an army of kindness ambassadors!
